In the movie , "Flash of Genius" the film begins with "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times" excerpted from "A Tale of Two Cities" by Charles Dickens.Mr. John Seabrook's "Flash of Genius" book contains many stories of entrepreneurs including the creator of the "Sims".
You may not be familiar with the "Sims" which is played on a Sony Playstation. Kids spend hours and hours doing repetitive tasks and purchasing various add-ons to their virtual homes and improving their virtual characters.Unfortunately, these computer created pages cannot provide you with the touch, and feel of the products. For example, how tacky the Nozguard is when applied and removed versus other products.
Every product has some weakness and some strength...just like people have strengths and weaknesses. Products and people are often misjudged by looks and features.
Would you buy a pink acapella for just the female patients to use? No, of course not. You would be laughed at for such nonsense, unless of course they were "Sims" characters.Imagination is invention.
A picture may be worth 1,000 words? A circular dressing of hydrocolloid material (note the round pen impressions). When this was performed with Nozguard ® there were no impressions from the pen, therefore no picture was taken. Hypothesis: Hydrocolloid dressing is excellent for seeping wounds, however maybe not such a great fix for pressure ulcer prevention below a firm fitting CPAP nasal or full-face mask.
