A = Upper Loop shown loosened.
B = Lower Loop shown in original configuration.
Adjustment and tension is the most difficult element in maintaining headgear, too tight and the fit is uncomfortable, too loose and the mask leaks in various areas (around eyes or cheeks). Increasing or decreasing tension to allow for both comfort and a snug, firm fit may require similar configurations as shown in this photograph.
